About

There are currently around 50 children (age 14-21) Foster care system in our area. All of them are required to attend monthly life skill training to prepare them for “life” before they exit the foster system by age 18 or 21.

The Opportunity

As HTC, we have a wonderful opportunity each month to invest in the lives of those kids by teaching them how to live inspired by kingdom values. 

If you think something is missing on this list, and you would like to teach it, let us know!     

Get involved

• Teach one or multiple life skill topics in 2025.
• One topic, once a month, in the evening.
• Time Commitment: The Whole evening will last between 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours. Teaching between 30- 40 minutes.

• August 18th: In-person @ Fairfax // Preparing for School (stress - management, study skills etc.)
• September 12th: In-person @ Fairfax // Financial Literacy
• Ocotber 6th: In-person @ Fairfax // Internet Safety

• September: Online // Career Readiness (Interviewing, job search, etc.)
• October: Online // Navigating Benefits & Healthcare

  Important: The online training is very flexible when it comes to dates. Tell us which date works best for you during which month.
